A Boho Elopement
What was the inspiration behind this styled shoot?
My friend Jen, with Wedding Rentals by Jen, is just starting out in her business and she shared her boho set up and I loved it. I suggested we collaborate on a boho elopement shoot to show off her new stuff. I’ve also gotten into macramé recently and it all just tied together perfectly.
What are some of the key elements in this shoot?
The macramé was intended to be a focal point, as well as the beautiful floral design by Limestone Floral. We were going for simple elegance, boho style.
Is there an overall theme and/or color palette in this shoot?
Bohemian style with muted floral colors.
Why did you choose to use an LGBTQAI+ couple for the shoot? What significance did it have?
When I started planning, I didn’t have anyone specific in mind. I asked a friend of mine if she knew of anyone, she recommended Amanda and Jordan because they’re so darn cute. Amanda models for fun and I’ve followed her work and loved everything so I jumped on the opportunity to work with her and her girlfriend. There wasn’t an intentional search for a lesbian couple, it just worked out that way, but I’m so glad it did! I am honored to share a more diverse love story, even if it was just for a styled shoot. Their love is very real and I think you can see it in the photos.
Have you worked with LGBTQAI+ couples prior to this?
I wish I could work with more LGBTQAI+ couples. I’d love to be able to share more diverse love, whether it’s sexual orientation or race, or both. I have worked with one other lesbian couple prior to this shoot.
Anything else you’d like to add?
All of the vendors knocked this shoot out of the park. It was better than I imagined it could be, I’m so thankful for all involved! Amanda and Jordan were so much fun to photograph, the way they look at each other just melts my heart. Jen did an amazing job designing the set up, Hannah with Limestone Floral absolutely killed it on flowers, blew my mind. Sarah made Amanda look like a goddess. I could not praise all of the vendors involved enough!
