Tell us your love story!
Dilcia and I met 7 years ago when we were both working at Victoria’s Secret. Dilcia actually caught my eye one day and I wanted to get to know her but our work schedules were always different. A coworker/ friend offered to help, and she got to know her for me. After a couple months our schedules finally linked up and we started working the same shifts a lot, we started talking and texting. Our small talk turned into a first date and our first dated turned in to many dates. In time, we moved in together and started talking about marriage and our future together. In June of 2016 we tied the knot and we both feel doubly lucky to have found each other. We feel extremely lucky and overjoyed to have been able to say our vows in front of all our friends and family.
What about the proposal?
There was no actual proposal we just both knew we were ready and had already been living together for a few years.
When did you know that you were meant to be with each other?
Once we started talking about the future and knew we wanted the exact same things.
Going into the wedding planning, what did you definitely know?
Outdoor wedding was a must, but also outdoorsy with a view or a wow factor. Saddlerock definitely has the wow factor and we both knew our mind was set the minute we got there.
What surprised you during planning? What was easy, what was difficult?
What surprised us the most was just how quickly time just passed by. We had a timeline which helped a lot with staying on track with everything. What was difficult was staying within budget.
Is there anything you wish you knew while you were planning your wedding that you know now?
You really won’t care about the little stuff. It’s not because you didn’t care about it enough, but because when you’re in the moment there’s nothing you can do to change it, so it no longer matters.
Any advice for couples planning weddings now?
Hire a great photographer and a wedding planner. It makes things run smoothly and you can enjoy your special day to the MAX!
What was your favorite part of your wedding day?
After dinner during sunset just seeing all of our friends and family enjoying themselves. Whether they were dancing, taking selfies with the amazing view, hanging out by the bar, or just sitting and socializing. Everyone had smiles on their faces and were really enjoying themselves.
