Tell us your love story!
We met through mutual friends before we were together. Bobby paints on large canvases and Ceasar decided a way to spend time together was to commission multiple paintings so that Bobby would have to come over and discuss the projects. His scheme obviously worked and our house is now covered in paintings.
What about the proposal?
Ceasar took me sky diving for my first (and last) time! There was an enormous "MARRY ME?" sign on the ground to see as I was descending, but nerves got the best of me and I completely missed seeing the sign, and fell onto the ground with my parachute falling over me. I didn't know what was happening until he had to direct me to the sign, and then I finally realized what was happening. Definitely not my most graceful moment, but the hilariousness of the landing made it that much more memorable.
When did you know that you were meant to be with each other?
Driving home from a ski trip scream-singing Whitney Houston and Mariah Carey with the windows down. Cliche and beautiful.
Going into the wedding planning, what did you definitely know?
We definitely knew we wanted to leave the country and head south. As much as we love living in and exploring Southern California, we ended up deciding on Mexico because it would be a blast for us as well as our guests.
What surprised you during planning?
Planning an out-of-country wedding has its difficulties! Trying to coordinate vendors and get an accurate idea of what to expect was occasionally frustrating. Luckily our wedding planner, Lindsay Geisler, has the hookups and made sure everything was perfect for us! Having her in our corner was a life-saver!
Is there anything you wish you knew while you were planning your wedding that you know now?
Planning had it's stressful moments, and we had our anxiety over which aspects would work and which wouldn't. In the end (and especially after the fact) we realized it's a just huge party for the people that love you the most. Even if something goes horribly wrong, everyone is there to enjoy themselves and support you! Try not to sweat the little things and know it will all come together to be an amazing, special day.
Any advice for couples planning weddings now?
START. PLANNING. EARLY. Things come up quickly as you get closer to the date. If you procrastinate, you are only going to cause yourself stress in the long run. Try to knock some stuff off the list when you can so that you can enjoy the time before your wedding and not be scrambling (or stressing out your wedding party)!
What was your favorite part of your wedding day?
Our favorite part of the wedding was looking out at our guests while saying our vows, realizing how lucky we are to gain so many new friends and family. Being able to share our love with everyone and expressing our gratitude for how lucky we are to be supported is an unforgettable feeling. A close second was dancing to the sickest 90s jams under the stars and then unexpectedly turning our beautiful formal wedding into the most lit pool party ever. I wish we could experience the entire thing again!
