A Boho Picnic Celebration
We were friends for years, then our relationship blossomed into a true love that was undeniable. We were soon wanting to spend every memory, dinner, dance, and kiss together, not being able to wait to be wives and start our future. We feel truly blessed to have found our other half, and to marry our best friend. We are still mesmerized each day by the ability to change a day into something beautiful in the wink of an eye.
The inspiration for our wedding was "bohemian picnic." The idea was to be lost in the woods, surrounded by nature's beauty with our very closest friends and family. Each detail being driven by the idea of greenery, succulents, terrariums and gold antiques - as if two flower children had fallen in love and made the park their home. We wanted it to be comfortable, homey with guests sitting on blankets. Dream catchers hung from palmetto state park dwarf palmetto trees. Lavender and honey were 2 prominent features! We had a honeycomb backdrop draped with moss, lavender buds were tossed by guests instead of a flower girl. Lavender gin bohemian bliss cocktails & honey whiskey sunshine cocktail were served. We had homemade goats milk soaps with lavender and honey for guest favors. Terrariums and gold shapes decorated exposed rock walls. We used rose quartz, which was held by guests for a stone blessing ceremony. We had naked lemon pound cake covered in wild flowers and succulents. Granola bars were given for guest snacks. BestWust food cart made dinner, with a buffet of German sides. There was live music galore, a teepee for photo booth opportunities, vintage flower hankies to dry happy tears and wicker furniture and accents including 1970s macramé hanging shelf for a family tree. Our guest book was a vintage suitcases holding quilt squares.
The clouds parted for the ceremony as Clarissa walked down the aisle to "You Are My Sunshine." "Somewhere Over the Rainbow" brought Dixie to Clarissa.
