Becca and I met 8, almost 9 years ago! It's been a whirlwind since we met, but I wouldn't change where we are right now for the world. We met in High School -- I was a senior and Becca was a freshman. Somehow Becca managed to get my number from one of her friends and started texting me. We definitely had one of those instant connections, the ones that everyone always writes about. The ones that everyone dreams about. One afternoon, I invited her over to my house, it was right before Valentine's Day. I drove her to my house (the baby freshmen that she was) and I remember we laid in my bed in my room where the walls were painted an awful bright pink. We had our first kiss, which apparently come to find, I was kind of mean and said to her "aren't you going to kiss me already?" Ohhhh those romantic high school days.
I guess you could say from there the rest was history. Shortly after I graduated from high school and went on to college in California. We talked every day. Texted, chatted on the phone, and we even used to send each other cute Facebook videos back and forth. When I would travel back to Colorado she would always visit and when she was finally in college and I would come back from California, she would drive down (7 hours) just to come see me, sometimes not even for 24 hours. It wasn't until a few years later until we started dating. She flew out to California to help move me back to Colorado. We started dating like two weeks before and within the first few weeks of us dating, she was on a plane and we drove 17 hours from California to Colorado (talk about a crazy way to start a relationship!) and we've been together ever since! Becca has the absolute sweetest heart. I can't wait to spend forever with her. She is my best friend, and my everything. I love her so incredibly much, even more so on the bad days.
On a recent trip to Omaha where we went to see one of our favorite bands, Mumford and Sons, I saw a card in a little shop that reminded me of us, "the minute I heard my first love story I started looking for you, not knowing how blind I was. lovers don't finally meet somewhere, they're in each other all along." -rumi.
Here's to forever together.
