From the photographer...

Steven and Yas met while Steven was living in Japan. They now currently live together in Switzerland. For their wedding day, their friends flew in from around the world to help celebrate. They came down the “aisle” hand in hand on a beautiful fall Central Park day and were married in the Ladies Pavilion overlooking the Central Park South skyline along the lake. After their tiny ceremony, we took photos through the Ramble amongst the fall colors and then they headed out to meet friends for a celebratory dinner. Also, Steven wore fox cufflinks because his middle name, Todd, means fox.

From the couple...

Yas & Steven met in Japan one November a long time ago. Against all odds, we are still together more than a decade later. We have visited New York several times together over the years. It's an iconic city that we both love. We never thought we'd be able to get married in our lifetime, but, never say never. Before the wedding, we needed, (more like Yas needed) to follow one particular wedding tradition. We went to the small fishing village of Camogli on the Italian Riviera for a long-weekend getaway. We proposed to each other on the 7th of July, on a small rocky outcrop in the Mediterranean Sea called Punta Chiappa. We chose to do this on the 7th of July because this is the one day each year that the star-crossed lovers can cross the Milky Way galaxy and come together according to Japanese folklore. This love story is celebrated on the 7th day of the 7th month with a festival called Tanabata.
