A week after a huge supreme court decision, and 12 years exactly to the day they first met, Drew and Luke exchanged vows in front of close friends and family in beautiful Buffalo, NY.
Both living in San Francisco, Luke and Drew designed and made the majority of the details that were in the wedding, including all of the invitations, the rubber stamp, and wax seals. This wedding was nothing short of breathtaking. All of the bow ties were made by Drew with custom logos printed on fabric chosen by the both of the grooms.
That logo was incorporated into various aspects of the decor.
Both grooms dressed in custom Ted Baker suits with Ben Sherman and A.Testoni shoes. Drew adorned a gorgeous white Dior Dress shirt as well. The groomsmen wore suits from The Black Tux and the girls wore shades of blush pink in 3 different dresses from BHLDN and Morie Lee. William's Florist did all of the flowers, mixing roses, ferns, moss and succulents to help bring a soft but masculine feel all throughout the day. Shannon Lach of Pear Planning was the Day of Coordinator.
Our day started off at one of Buffalo's most historic houses - The Hewitt Mansion, that was recently turned into a bed and breakfast/inn. Drew and Luke rented the inn for their wedding party and did all of their getting ready there.
They wanted to do a first look and I was eager to find a place within the inn that would match their love story; classic and elegant. I found two suites that had an adjoining door and we decided this was the spot. Placing one groom on either side, the anticipation and emotion was high, but all worth it...it was amazing. After hugs, tears, and kisses we continued on to do some pre ceremony photos at Albright Knox Art Gallery.
The ceremony was next and boy was it ever amazing. In front of their family and friends, Drew and Luke read their vows and said "I do" to officially become a married couple. They drove away in Drew's father's vintage car, a fire engine red Triumph.
This was a first for Iron Works, the reception venue. Located in the historic cobblestone district of downtown Buffalo, Drew and Luke's reception was their first wedding ever. The exposed piping and original brick was beautiful against the geometric theme. The restaurant was transformed into something out of a story book. Chandeliers were hung from the ceiling that Drew and Luke found and restored from antique stores in San Francisco. Tables were covered in flowers, moss and home made cement Candle holders that Drew made. Everything flowed together just like Drew and Luke had for that last 12 years. There was so much beauty and love about this day.
