We met at a country western girl bar. Super romantic right? It almost didn't happen, though. Erica had come with her neighbor and her neighbor and I were talking about our mutual love for crafting so she added me on her Facebook. In the midst of our imbibing, they disappeared shortly after without saying goodbye. They thought I ditched them, so they ditched me! Remembering that I had her neighbor's Facebook I "stalked" her and sent her a message the next night asking her out. She said she had work the next morning. I wasn't sure if she was into me or not but I didn't let it bother me.
One day for happy hour I met my friend at a local winebar, Postino. We both joked that this was Erica's last chance to date me so I texted Erica to meet us at Postino. Well, happy hour turned into one of the best dates ever! After my friend left, we closed down the restaurant and sat for hours over wine and ended up sitting on the bus stop bench outside of the restaurant until dawn! The kicker? She didn't even kiss me goodnight when she left! However, the rest is history! Obviously, she fell madly in love with me! Haha!
Our proposal was in November after our two year mark. We went up to Prescott for a mini getaway and took our furbaby Oscar with us. We stayed in an awesome historic hotel, the Hassayampa Inn and had dinner in their romantic restaurant. At dinner she gave me one of her special storybooks that I usually get for my birthday or anniversaries. This one was titled "Our Story" and it included inside jokes, romantic thoughts and a timeline of our milestones and history; getting our first apartment, getting our dog, etc. At the end she asked me if I could imagine spending my life with her but she hadn't asked yet! After dinner we were walking around the town square with our pup and that's when she popped the question. She was so nervous! Of course, I said yes! A few months later I asked her and then a year later I re-asked her but that's a whole other story!!
