An Icelandic Affair
We love a few great decor details when perusing a wedding. However, when the amazingly scenic Iceland is your backdrop, there is nothing more needed to make your ceremony absolutely perfect! Kristín María captured every romantic moment impeccably!
We adore how serene and tranquil this elopement feels. After seeing these dreamy nuptials, we're really considering relocating...
From the bride, Jessica...
So KT and I used to work as investigators at a New York City agency called the New York City Civilian Complaint Review Board (CCRB). At the CCRB, we investigated allegations of police misconduct, such as excessive force and abuse of authority. We were acquaintances for several years in that office before we started spending time together. Once we started talking to each other, we had quite a romantic courtship that lasted for about four to five months before we decided that we wanted to be in a committed relationship together. The rest is history. My mom arranged my bouquet and KT's boutonniere. My bouquet and her boutonniere mostly consisted of dried lavender and dried wheat.
KT and I created/picked out our wedding outfits ourselves. I found my dress on a sale rack at Free People. It wasn't even a wedding dress, just a cocktail dress. The particular day that I found it, I wasn't looking for my wedding dress. I just came across the dress and all of a sudden I thought that it would be perfect for the wedding. With the help of my best friend, I decided that low boots would be perfect and funky for the dress.
KT's pants are from J.Crew. She bought her custom blazer and shirt from a clothing company in Brooklyn that specializes masculine clothes for women, Marimacho. We searched for the perfect bow tie on Etsy. KT's mom actually found the shoes for her and they seemed to be great for her outfit. We got our wedding rings through a local jewelry store in Brooklyn, Bijoutique. Our jeweler, Katerina Bogatireva, helped us to design unique rings for us.
We decided to get married in Iceland because KT proposed to me there and we fell in love with the country. We thought it would be incredibly romantic to have a private ceremony in Iceland. Pink Iceland help us arrange the photographer, minister, ceremony location, and other details of our trip.
