details

What was the inspiration behind this styled shoot?

My friend’s Modern beach house with clean lines and adding a “hint” of romance.

What are some of the key elements in this shoot?

- Highlighting the couples love. (Renewing and reciting their updated wedding vows - the couple celebrated their 3 year anniversary in June.)

- Showing modern/clean lines – with a hint of romance

- Stylish attire

- Highlighting diversity

Is there an overall theme and/or color palette in this shoot?

Gold, Blue, Pink, White

Why did you choose to use an LGBTQAI+ couple for the shoot? What significance did it have?

I have been photographing weddings for 5 years. I have noticed a smaller percentage of LGBTQAI+  male representation in modern wedding magazines or blogs. I wanted to create a styled shoot to highlight LGBTQAI+ males in love.

Have you worked with LGBTQAI+ couples prior to this?

Yes.

Did you learn anything new from working on this shoot?

In Spring 2019, I wanted to make sure I was doing all that I could to be inclusive and show diversity in my wedding business from my images, website, marketing materials, questionnaires, using proper verbiage, etc. As a lifelong learner, I received certifications from: Equality Institute (LGBT+ Weddings) and Equally Wed Pro’s (LGBT Inclusive) programs. I wanted to be the vendor that my clients can feel comfortable and know that I am an ally.

Anything else you’d like to add?

It is my goal to increase LGBTQAI+ wedding client representation on my website and mainstream wedding marketing. If you like my work, let’s talk about your special day and how we can work together! I will travel!
