Tell us your love story!
The first time Jesus & Danny saw each other they had been introduced by a mutual friend. Jesus still reminisces about what Danny was wearing that first night. "I will never forget he was wearing a red shirt and white pants!" From the first chance encounter they visited a local lounge with friends and spent the evening talking and dancing the night away. Danny drove Jesus home ensuring him that he would return in the morning to get Jesus to work on time. Waking in a bit of haste, Jesus found himself running around his apartment late for work and rushing out of the door. Standing on his porch was Danny holding coffee and a scone from Panera. Jesus greeted Danny with a smile and a warm embrace. After that first evening fate brought them together, they have been inseparable ever since.
What about the proposal?
Christmas day 2014 - Jesus' birthday. Danny had been planning a weekend trip to New York for weeks ensuring all details had been planned perfectly. The moment had finally arrived Danny took Jesus to the heart of NY during the holidays - Rockefeller Center. Standing at Rockefeller Center admiring the beautifully decorated scenery, Jesus asked Danny to get a photo of him standing in front of an angel. Danny obliged snapping the photo with his phone. Danny and Jesus' phones were linked for photo sharing. When Jesus asked for the photo Danny beamed him a photo but not the photo he had just taken, instead Danny send him a photo of the engagement ring he had taken days before. As Jesus looked excitedly at his phone for the incoming photo Danny dropped to one knee. Jesus looked up from the phone confused and eventually down at Danny to see him kneeling holding the box with the ring. On a cold December evening in the most magical place in the world on Christmas, surrounded by the illuminated angels and millions of city lights tears filled Jesus' eyes and his heart fluttered as he momentarily was speechless. He managed to say "YES!" Thus Danny and Jesus began the journey of spending the rest of their lives together.
When did you know that you were meant to be with each other?
Amid long evenings full of conversation, dinners, movies and endless coffee dates, Jesus and Danny realized they had a one-of-a-kind type of love. They made their relationship official after New Years 2012.
Going into the wedding planning, what did you definitely know?
We definitely knew we wanted a beautiful party for all of our friends and family to share in the love we had for one another, our planner and event designer had some great insight into our aesthetic wants and desires (see below).
"Jesus and Danny wanted their wedding to be an amazing celebration full of love and joyful experiences, while Jesus' focused carefully the details of the flowers, cake, and decor, Danny wanted Jesus to have everything that he wanted with small requests here and there. Both of them focused heavily on the guest experience and wanted the family and friends celebrating their union to feel as if they were catered to in every way. From the custom ordered Sugarfina candies at each place setting table, the overwhelming display of signature drinks and hors-d'oeuvres at cocktail hour to the custom-made favors and gifts Jesus' mother brought from Mexico, the endless mini dessert display and custom curated playlist. Guests enjoying themselves and not wanting for anything was of the utmost importance to them. The look and feel of the design was built on the glamorous side of Jesus and the rustic southern side of Danny. We wanted the design details to feature odes to both sides of their personalities, Jesus' flair for all things fabulous and dramatic and Danny's grounded southern charm."

Any advice for couples planning weddings now? Anything you would have done differently or anything you’d like to add?
It was important to us that we did our wedding with class and style. As part of the LGBTQ community, we felt like it was so important to show an example of what couples can do for their special day and how a wedding celebration to the one you love can be a beautiful memorable experience surrounded with the love of your family and friends.
Our advice would be get a planner that can anticipate your needs before you even think of them, that will make the process stress free so that you can enjoy it. Trust us, its worth every penny! Also, hire a great photography and videographer!! Having those memories forever is one of the best investments we made!
What was your favorite part of your wedding day?
The happiness and love shared by all our guests. The day was a whirlwind, but the love we felt between us two and those who were celebrating our love was palpable!
