How did you meet?

Justine and I met by swiping right. I was just out of a 5 year relationship and her fresh out of an engagement. It was September of 2014 when we were on our first date, naturally to twin peaks for the scenic views. Things went well on the first date and we continued to talk and see one another but didn't want to jump into a relationship. Even with continuing to use dating apps and talking to other girls we kept coming back to one another and decided to make it official in May of 2015.

What is the best quality about the other person?

Justine has such a big heart and has so much compassion for giving people and animals the love and attention they deserve. When my best friend Marge (My corgi dog) was sick she cared for her just like she was her best friend for 10 years rather than only knowing her for 2 short years. When Marge passed away she was there for me and supported me in wanting to foster dogs in the memory of Marge and then allowed me to take in my Grant Aunt's dog Jersey (also a corgi) into our home. Even though Jersey continues to have an attitude anytime Justine asks her to do something but easily listens when I ask. She also went with me to visit my great aunt when she was ill in hospice and was happy to have Jersey tag along. Justine has a beautiful loving heart and I'm thankful to call her my wife.

Whitney has a passion for helping people/anyone in need, especially her patients. Whitney is a Prosthetist and is dedicated to being the best clinician for her patients, no matter the extra time it takes, the battles with health insurances, or number of adjustments required. It's not just for her patients though. Whenever our friends or family need a sitter, borrowing a tool, working on a project, covering a shift at her mom's bar, etc she is there. Even at times taking away from our time together, but I understand her love and compassion for people overall and I am very fortunate to be with someone that cares so much about the people in her life.

What is the best thing that your significant other has taught you?

The best thing that Justine has taught me is that I deserve to be loved. I'm human and I've made mistakes and she continues to allow me to grow as a person through those mistakes and has taught me to communicate in ways I never have with a partner. Through all of this I have learned how to be loved and how to truly love her unconditionally and it's such an amazing experience that I hope everyone gets to experience in life.

Whitney has taught me how to love myself. I'm not always the kindest person towards myself, very critical of myself. What I had always pictured were my "flaws" Whitney has helped me realize are the things that make me unique. She has helped me understand my beauty inside and out with how she loves me.

What do you look forward to in the future with your significant other?

I look forward to the different moments in life with her and how she will grow and change as a woman. I've fallen in love with the struggling grad student and fallen in love all over again with the fur mom/home maker and young professional she has transformed into and can't wait to see her turn into a loving mother and to our young children then morph into a sexy soccer mom and who knows from there. I just can't wait to see her as the many different "women" she'll be through our lifetime as well as the many different " women" I'll be thanks to her and never would be without her.

Tell us a bit about your love shoot! What made you decide to do a love shoot? Where did the style/design inspiration come from?

The love shoot was shot in our home which is beautiful thanks to the designing of Justine. The photographer actually reached out on Facebook for same sex couples to do shoots to help her portfolio reflect her beliefs that love is love and love always wins. So a friend tagged me and I reached to Kara and she was excited to meet Justine and I for a shoot. I had never heard of a love shoot or lifestyle shoot in the home and it was an option she gave us and we decided it would be perfect as we had just recently been married and still on cloud 9 from the experience. Kara just suggested we be in comfortable clothing that we could be found in at home when it's just the two of us on a lazy afternoon. So we did just that and everything just fell into place and it was a unique, memorable experience that we highly suggest any couple that is passionately in love do!
