Tell us your love story!
We met on our first date at Roundhay Park in Leeds. It had been snowing, so we went sledding on the big fields and topped it off with a drink at the local pub.
What about the proposal?
Although we both probably would have proposed, Ally beat me to it whilst on on beach in Ilha Grande, an island off Brazil, with a plastic ring whose ring box cost more! We were having a lovely picnic!
When did you know that you were meant to be with each other?
When I went to Australia for 6 months (pre-planned before I met Ally) – I knew I needed to come back.
Going into the wedding planning, what did you definitely know?
Definitely personal, relaxed and chilled – there was very little stress on the day.
· Not outdoors – and quite rightly too – it chucked it down!
· A great band to dance to, and great food with all your friends and family.
What surprised you during planning? What was easy, what was difficult?
Once the main bits like venue, DJ and food are sorted , the rest is lots of fun. Its not that hard to put a personal touch on your wedding but it definitely takes more time!
Is there anything you wish you knew while you were planning your wedding that you know now?
Book a hairdresser early! Its a lot to ask with two brides. Thankfully ours was amazing when we found her and did a wonderful job.
Any advice for couples planning weddings now? Anything you would have done differently or anything you’d like to add?
Try and enjoy it! Get your family to give you a hand decorating the venue and put them up the night before so there's no stress about where everyone is on the day (if you are staying at your venue).
What was your favorite part of your wedding day?
Seeing each other in our dresses and having all your friends in one place – amazing. I also enjoyed my wife dancing with my dog on the dance floor!
