How we met:

A dating app! I spent a brief time unsuccessfully using the app, and in that time I found Jac while she was in the area visiting her sister. Obviously blown away by her beauty, I tried to convince her to let me take her on a date, but because she was living two hours from me at the time, she wasn't sure about setting something up. Fast forward six months: we found each other again and decided to plan a weekend date. I drove to her place, where she had wine and appetizers prepared (a woman of my own heart). We ended up talking for several hours, realizing we missed our dinner reservation. So, we picked up take-out late in the evening and left to a camping spot on the beach. We sat by the fire into the late hours, listening to music and continuing conversation, and we camped in a tent on the water. Grabbed brunch the next morning and said goodbye, not knowing what was next for us. See, I had been living fast on a solo adventure and had recently applied for a year-long AmeriCorps program that would put me in limited contact with friends or family. However, I spent the two hour drive home reevaluating my life and plans because I knew I wanted to spend my moments with her. About a year and a half later, we were engaged. :)
