Classis Chicago Brides
Tell us your love story!
Our story started long before we met in person. We grew up 5 minutes from one another in a suburb of Chicago and met 20 plus years later in Chicago via online. The first date set the tone for the rest of our relations. Instantly we recognized something special in one another and haven’t looked back since.
What about the proposal?
I surprised Alishe with a skydive proposal. She had previously expressed an interested for jumping out of a perfectly good airplane and I thought it would be a perfect cover for the proposal. We jumped out of the plane at 15,000 feet in the air and when she landed, I proposed.
When did you know that you were meant to be with each other?
It is difficult to pin-point exactly when we fell for one another but there were definite feelings after only the first week.
Going into the wedding planning, what did you definitely know?
We knew we wanted a fall wedding outside with fall colors as our theme.
What surprised you during planning? What was easy, what was difficult?
We was surprised by how much time goes into each step of the process and also how much time can be lost if one small step is not handled appropriately.
Is there anything you wish you knew while you were planning your wedding that you know now?
Our vendors did a wonderful job with much of the planning and covered a lot of the details that we would have not known otherwise. Advice: teamwork makes the dream work; get a second option always.
Any advice for couples planning weddings now? Anything you would have done differently or anything you’d like to add?
Enjoy the planning stages; let it deepen the bond between you two because time truly flies by fast.
What was your favorite part of your wedding day?
Our favorite moments were both of our family coming together, laughing, dancing, and enjoying their new family. It was truly precious and heartwarming to experience.
